Your West Lancashire 2027
The Council will carry out further consultation in 2010 on how
West Lancashire should develop over the coming years to 2027. A
major consultation exercise was held in September and
October 2009 and several hundred responses were received. The
Council will analyse the comments that people have made and
publish a "Consultation Report" summarising what people said.
We will use the consultation results to inform us in choosing a
"Preferred Option" for the future development of the
borough. We expect this will be finalised during 2010 and
people will have the chance to give their views on the
preferred option during the Autumn.
Licensing
Act
People will have the opportunity to
give their views when the Council revises its Licensing Act Policy.
There will be a 12-week consultation during 2010. This will
deal with the way the Council licenses alcohol, entertainment and
late-night refreshment and will include a proposal
to introduce a red/yellow card scheme for premises that fail
to adhere to the legislation. It will also include proposals to
adopt aspects of the government's mandatory code for drinks
promotions. More details will be
provided here as soon as they are available, including
information about how to give your views.
